A law firm seeks a Defense Litigation Associate in Atlanta, GA. This role offers the opportunity to engage in complex litigation across various subject areas, working alongside experienced attorneys. The successful candidate will be involved in all stages of cases, from pre-suit investigation to trial and appeal, providing a broad and challenging experience.

Duties

• Analyze and summarize legal documents.
• Conduct legal research and investigate people, businesses, and worksites.
• Evaluate cases and develop strategic defenses.
• Conduct client meetings and recommend strategies.
• Investigate facts and conduct depositions.
• Prepare and argue motions.
• Conduct hearings and mediations.
• Prepare witnesses and corporate representatives.
• Brief at trial and appellate courts.
• Write defense mediation summaries.

Requirements

• Active license and good standing with the State of Georgia.
• Critical thinking and research skills.
• Strong writing, analytical, and communication skills with attention to detail.
• 1-5 years' experience in defense litigation; insurance defense experience preferred.
• Ability to thrive in a high-paced environment with strong organizational skills.
• Self-starter with the ability to handle multiple projects and priorities.
• Client-focused mentality and initiative.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Ability to review and interpret financial records is a plus.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Bar admission in Georgia.
