Job Overview: A well-established multi-state law firm is seeking a Senior Counsel to join its California practice, focusing on real estate and creditors' rights law. This role is ideal for an experienced attorney who can manage a high volume of cases, including mortgage foreclosure, collections, and litigation matters. The position offers the flexibility of remote work, with occasional travel required for court appearances or meetings at the firm's California office. Duties:

• Manage a substantial caseload in the areas of mortgage foreclosure, collections, and creditors' rights.
• Represent clients in California state, federal, and bankruptcy courts.
• Oversee all aspects of litigation, including discovery, depositions, and conflict resolution.
• Provide expert legal advice on issues related to TILA, RESPA, FDCPA, and bankruptcy matters.
• Prepare and review legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and appellate briefs.
• Attend court hearings, with some travel required for in-person appearances.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor.
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the firm’s presence and growth in California.
• Lead and mentor junior attorneys and staff as needed.

Requirements:

• Active member in good standing with the California State Bar.
• Licensed or eligible for admission to California federal district and bankruptcy courts.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in mortgage foreclosure, collections, and creditors' rights litigation.
• Strong understanding of discovery practice, depositions, and appellate procedures.
• Familiarity with TILA, RESPA, FDCPA, and the Bankruptcy Code (preferred).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage a high-volume caseload while maintaining attention to detail.
• Willingness to travel for court appearances and in-person meetings.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active California State Bar license (required).
