Job Overview:
A mid-sized law firm with a focus on insurance defense is seeking a Litigation Attorney with 2–3 years of experience to join its New York City office. This role is ideal for an attorney with a strong background in New York no-fault litigation, civil court procedures, and insurance-related legal matters. The attorney will be responsible for handling a range of cases, including No-Fault arbitrations, EUOs (Examinations Under Oath), and declaratory judgment actions. The position offers a hybrid work schedule and a comprehensive benefits package.

Location:

• New York City, NY

Duties:

• Manage defense of No-Fault and third-party auto litigation matters

• Handle arbitrations and appear in civil court proceedings

• Conduct Examinations Under Oath (EUOs)

• Draft pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, and other litigation documents

• Represent clients in declaratory judgment actions and proceedings in the Supreme Court of the State of New York

• Prepare cases for trial and manage pre-trial discovery

• Work independently and as part of a litigation team

• Maintain clear and professional communication with clients, opposing counsel, and courts

Requirements:

• 2–3 years of civil litigation experience, including No-Fault defense and third-party auto matters

• Familiarity with New York no-fault law and insurance regulations

• Experience with arbitrations and conducting EUOs

• Prior exposure to declaratory judgment actions and NY Supreme Court procedures (preferred)

• Trial experience is a plus

• Ability to provide writing samples demonstrating strong analytical and writing skills

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the New York State Bar (required)

• Admission to the New Jersey State Bar (required)

Skills:

• Strong legal research and writing skills

• Effective oral advocacy and negotiation abilities

• High attention to detail and organization

• Ability to manage deadlines and multiple caseloads

• Proficiency in handling litigation autonomously
