Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney in Birmingham, AL. The ideal candidate must be licensed and in good standing in Alabama, with a minimum of two years of experience as a practicing attorney. Preference will be given to candidates also licensed in GA, TX, or MS. The role involves title review, title curative responsibilities, and nonjudicial foreclosure tasks, requiring experience in real estate law and title review/clearance. This position may be hybrid or fully remote, depending on experience and location.

Duties

• Review title examinations and identify issues within 24-48 hours.
• Cure simple and complex title issues promptly.
• Evaluate and rectify file-level issues in pleadings and documents.
• Ensure accuracy and compliance in foreclosure documents.
• Communicate regularly with insurers and external parties.
• Create and edit reports, opinions, and correspondence.
• Manage an independent caseload effectively.
• Maintain strong relationships with insurers and vendors.
• Update case management systems accurately.

Requirements

• Licensed and in good standing with the Alabama State Bar.
• Minimum two years of experience in real estate and title review.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws.
• Familiarity with Alabama Title Standards preferred.

• Juris Doctor
