Senior Human Resources Generalist
The candidate will act as the primary point of contact for all California HR related questions and provide guidance on policies and procedures. Work closely with the Senior HR Manager and Head of US HR on all leaves, performance management, and employee relations issues. Advise and collaborate with Business Services leads, Office Managers, and Secretarial Supervisors to address HR related issues and the performance management of their team members. Respond to requests for federal, state, and local leaves of absences, prepare the necessary paperwork, and engage with the employee before, during and after their leave to ensure they are fully supported and are successfully transition back to work. Ensure the firm is fully compliant with all local, state, and federal labor law guidelines and regulations. Manage the mid-year and annual appraisal review process for all employees. The role will work closely with the HR and Finance teams to generate, coordinate, and communicate the necessary documents within the agreed timeframe. Attend moderation meetings to ensure feedback is gathered and appraisal ratings are consistent across teams. Collate feedback and assist with drafting and reviewing appraisals where necessary. Attend appraisals for secretaries, business services staff, and associates as required. Oversee the onboarding and assist with the orientation of all California employees. Maintain regular contact to ensure they are properly integrated with their teams. Meet with all California based new hires to conduct their HR and benefits orientation and address their questions. Complete exit interviews and assist with the departure process for all employees. Prepare change in terms letters and other miscellaneous correspondence for existing employees. Assist the Head of HR with the preparation and coordination of the annual compensation review process for all US employees. Conduct first stage interviews and assist with the selection of candidates. Liaise with the Payroll department to provide key information and address questions raised by employees. Oversee California non-exempt timesheets to ensure individuals are taking the appropriate rest and meal period breaks and contacting individuals and their managers to discuss when appropriate breaks are not being taken. Manage the US anti-harassment and discrimination training process across all US offices. Ensure that all external or internal training is provided to new hires and mandatory refresher training is scheduled for all existing employees and partners. Bachelor's Degree is required. Should have 7+ years of generalist HR experience.
