Duties

• Manage a docket of pre-litigation and litigation cases from inception through trial.
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, discovery, motions, and trial briefs.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Appear in court to argue motions and various hearings.
• Engage with clients and help shape case strategy.
• Participate in mediations, arbitrations, and negotiations.
• Aid in trial preparation and serve as second chair where applicable.

Requirements

• Active member of the California State Bar (in good standing).
• 1-5 years of litigation experience (personal injury and/or employment law background is a plus).
• Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage cases independently and meet deadlines.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• California State Bar License.

Skills

• Desire to grow as a trial lawyer and/or litigator.
• Trial or trial-prep experience is a plus.
• Understanding of modern-day office technology.
• Interest in specific areas of torts or plaintiff's litigation.
