A respected law firm based in Brookhaven, GA, is seeking a full-time Associate Attorney focused on Labor and Employment matters to support its internal legal services group and collaborate with a broad range of business units. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented legal professional with a strong foundation in employment law and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset. The selected candidate will work onsite and engage in occasional travel to represent the organization across various proceedings and initiatives.
Prepare position statements in response to employment-related agency claims
Address requests from government agencies for supplemental documentation
Lead internal inquiries into workplace matters
Prepare witnesses and participate in administrative hearings and fact-finding proceedings
Represent the organization during mediations and settlement discussions
Respond to attorney demands and pre-litigation communications
Support the mitigation of legal risks through policy review and strategic recommendations
Develop and conduct training sessions for leadership and employees on key employment topics
Coordinate with external legal partners as necessary
Guide to human resources and field staff regarding compliance with employment laws
Contribute to the implementation of internal legal initiatives
Travel occasionally for meetings, court-related appearances, or mediations
Assist with other related tasks supporting labor and employment legal operations
1-5 years of legal experience, preferably in labor and employment law
Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in dynamic environments
Proven capacity to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high-quality output
Strong verbal and written communication proficiency
Excellent interpersonal skills for working with individuals at all organizational levels and external stakeholders
Comfortable handling sensitive and confidential matters with professionalism and discretion
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Admitted to practice law and in good standing with at least one U.S. jurisdiction
Advanced research and legal drafting skills
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving orientation
Confidence in delivering presentations and legal training
Capable of driving projects to completion with minimal oversight
