The successful candidate will manage an array of general real estate matters, ensuring seamless deal execution and regulatory compliance across residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects.

Duties

  • Draft, review, and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, leases, easements, and related real estate contracts.
  • Oversee title examination, survey analysis, and resolution of title defects.
  • Conduct and supervise due diligence, including environmental, zoning, and land-use assessments.
  • Coordinate closings with lenders, title companies, escrow agents, and clients.
  • Advise on land development, subdivisions, lot mergers, and compliance with local planning boards.
  • Manage loan documentation, refinancings, and lien releases.
  • Counsel clients on risk allocation, insurance requirements, and post-closing obligations.
  • Supervise and mentor junior associates, paralegals, and support staff on real estate workflows.

Requirements

  • 12 years' experience handling a broad spectrum of real estate transactions.
  • Active admission to the New York State Bar.
  • Demonstrated track record of negotiating and closing high-volume and high-value deals.
  • Strong legal research, drafting, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple matters concurrently and prioritize deadlines.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate, or related discipline.

Certifications

  • Admission to the New York State Bar.
  • Federal District Court admission preferred.

Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of real estate finance, leasing structures, and property development processes.
  • Proficiency with document management and e-closing platforms (e.g., DocuSign, Qualia).
  • Strategic negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong client relationship management and business development instincts.
