Job Title: Employment Law Attorney

Job Overview:
A Tampa-based law firm is seeking a dedicated Employment Law Associate to support its expanding practice dedicated to advocating on behalf of employees. The role involves managing cases from inception through resolution, including pre-litigation efforts and trial work. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to addressing unlawful workplace practices related to discrimination, medical leave violations, harassment, wage disputes, and executive compensation matters.

Duties:

• Represent clients in employment law cases involving workplace discrimination, harassment, medical leave, and wage and hour violations

• Handle matters across various stages, including intake, discovery, depositions, settlement discussions, trial preparation, and hearings

• Conduct thorough legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda

• Negotiate settlements and advocate for client interests in administrative and court proceedings

• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure effective and empathetic client representation

Requirements:

• Active license to practice law in Florida

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in employment law, or 2 years of litigation experience with a demonstrated interest in labor and employment law

• Prior experience practicing in federal court

• Strong ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide sound strategic guidance

• Capable of managing a demanding caseload and meeting court deadlines

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association

Certifications:

• Admission to the Florida Bar (mandatory)

Skills:

• Proficient in legal writing and oral advocacy

• Skilled in legal research tools and litigation software

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced and collaborative legal environment

• Demonstrated professionalism, organization, and attention to detail

• Strong interpersonal skills to support client interactions and team collaboration
