Job Title: Workers' Compensation Attorney

Job Overview:
A leading law firm in Brea, CA is seeking an experienced Workers' Compensation Attorney to manage and oversee the full scope of workers’ compensation cases. The role will involve providing legal counsel, litigation strategies, and representation for employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators across California. The attorney will handle all aspects of case preparation and resolution, including negotiations, medical reviews, and trial preparation.

Duties:

• Handle a full caseload of workers' compensation cases with varying levels of complexity.
• Develop and implement effective litigation strategies and case plans.
• Prepare and manage legal budgets when necessary.
• Conduct thorough discovery and prepare for trial proceedings.
• Attend court hearings and other relevant legal proceedings.
• Prepare legal documents such as motions, briefs, and correspondence.
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and other involved parties to provide effective legal representation.
• Negotiate settlements and guide clients through the resolution process.
• Engage in strong advocacy on behalf of clients during trial when necessary.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in defending workers’ compensation cases.
• Proficiency in litigation, including discovery, negotiations, and trial work.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to develop litigation strategies.
• Familiarity with California workers’ compensation laws and court systems.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Must be an active member of the California State Bar.

Certifications:

• California State Bar license in good standing.

Skills:

• Strong legal research, analysis, and writing skills.
• Excellent client relationship management.
• Ability to handle a high-volume caseload efficiently.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently as well as in a team.
• Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
