Job Overview: A prestigious law firm in New York City is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join their Professional Liability team. This position offers the opportunity to specialize in civil litigation defense, specifically focusing on Legal Malpractice, Employment Law, Commercial Liability, and Miscellaneous Professional Liability cases. The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of litigation experience and demonstrate a keen interest in expanding their expertise in these areas while engaging directly with both attorney-clients and professional clients.

Duties:

• Represent clients in civil litigation, specifically defending cases in the areas of Legal Malpractice, Employment Law, and Commercial Liability.
• Provide legal counsel and strategic advice to clients on professional liability matters.
• Prepare and draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery responses.
• Manage case files and attend hearings, depositions, and trials.
• Collaborate with team members in a client-focused environment to achieve favorable outcomes.
• Foster strong relationships with attorney-clients and other professional clients, ensuring their needs are met effectively.
• Stay updated on relevant federal and state laws affecting professional liability cases.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in civil litigation, with a focus on professional liability defense.
• Strong litigation skills, including experience with case management, legal research, and trial preparation.
• Experience interacting with clients and colleagues in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
• Knowledge of federal practice is advantageous, but not required.
• Ability to handle a high caseload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in the state of New York.
