Duties:

• Manage a diverse civil litigation docket from intake to resolution or trial

• Act as lead or second-chair attorney in trials, mediations, and arbitrations

• Take and defend depositions, handle discovery strategy, and prepare key motions

• Develop a litigation strategy tailored to client goals and case dynamics

• Build and maintain client relationships with regular updates and strategic guidance

• Supervise and collaborate with junior attorneys and support staff on casework

• Provide feedback and mentorship to associates to promote litigation excellence

• Assess case strengths, recommend budget forecasts, and ensure compliance with internal and external standards

Requirements:

• Minimum 7 years of litigation experience with a focus on civil defense

• Direct trial experience in complex litigation, preferably in a leadership role

• Strong interpersonal and client-handling skills

• Proficiency in managing litigation independently while coordinating with a team

• Adept at legal strategy, case valuation, and high-level advocacy

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited institution

Certifications:

• Must hold an active license to practice law in California

Skills:

• Litigation strategy and trial execution

• Strong written and oral advocacy

• Legal research and motion drafting

• Team leadership and associate development

• Client relations and negotiation

• Familiarity with modern legal tech tools and litigation platforms (e.g., AI-powered research and drafting support)
