Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Vendor Management Counsel in Boston, MA. This role offers the flexibility of a fully remote or hybrid work arrangement. The successful candidate will join a dynamic internal legal team, supporting various business functions and managing a wide range of vendor and supplier contracts.

Duties

  • Serve as primary lawyer for vendor and supplier contracts across all business functions.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including technology licenses and SaaS agreements.
  • Lead contracting for technology and AI-related engagements, advising on data rights and liability allocation.
  • Coordinate with attorneys specializing in privacy and data security for specialized matters.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to identify legal risks and align contract terms with policies.
  • Support and maintain standard contract templates and clause guidance.
  • Monitor legal developments in AI governance and data privacy, advising on implications for contracts.
  • Work with contract administrators to manage the firm's contract portfolio.

Requirements

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school; active bar admission in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, including technology agreements.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and business-partnering skills.
  • Familiarity with generative AI contracting concepts and data rights.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of matters with competing deadlines.

Education

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active bar admission in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.

Skills

  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Business-oriented mindset with the ability to communicate risk clearly.
  • Familiarity with AI governance and data privacy frameworks.
