A law firm in Bismarck is actively seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney with a minimum of 2 years of litigation experience. The ideal candidate will possess excellent writing and research skills, demonstrating a high level of maturity and the ability to handle complex matters in oil and gas litigation. The role requires proficiency in e-discovery, fact development, and the strategic analysis of legal issues. Strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to manage a challenging workload involving high-stakes litigation, administrative hearings, and trial work are essential.

Duties:

• Take significant responsibility for pleadings, motions, and briefings on complex matters.
• Demonstrate proficiency in handling e-discovery and fact development.
• Tackle complex fact, legal, and logistical issues with foresight and strategic analysis.
• Manage a challenging workload involving high-stakes litigation, administrative hearings, and trial work.
• Interact effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the court.
• Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategy.
• Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings and motions.
• Participate in all phases of litigation, from case initiation to trial and appeal.
• Ensure compliance with court procedures and deadlines.
• Maintain and manage case files and documentation.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of litigation experience.
• Active North Dakota license or the ability to become licensed.

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

Active North Dakota law license or ability to obtain one.

Skills:

• Excellent writing and research skills.
• Experience in oil and gas litigation preferred.
• Clerkship and court experience is a plus.
