Attorney - Investigations

Duties: Conduct investigations of the sensitive workplace and ethical issues. Conduct interviews, collaborate with agency personnel and outside entities, and gather and analyze documents and data to ensure a thorough investigation. Conduct risk assessments to prioritize risk and develop mitigation plans. Develop, maintain, and train agency personnel on ethical conduct requirements. Monitor the agency compliance program and conduct trend analysis to identify patterns and variations in staff performance. Conduct legal research on complex areas of law involving confidentiality. Provide input and implement process improvements based upon investigations, audit results, and ethics survey results. Create best practices guides, policies, and procedures relating to internal investigations. Assist with privacy issues and incidents, data governance, and compliance reviews. Assist with internal compliance reviews and monitoring activities. Develop, maintain, and train agency personnel on compliance monitoring processes and activities, data governance, and the release of confidential information. Investigate and act on matters related to compliance. Conducting research and providing legal opinions relating to the effectiveness of agency compliance practices, data governance, and the release of confidential information.
