A law firm seeks an experienced Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney to join its Southern California office. The ideal candidate will independently manage a caseload of workers' compensation matters, ranging from straightforward to complex claims. This role requires strong legal skills, the ability to work collaboratively, and a commitment to delivering excellent client service.

Duties

• Oversee and manage a full caseload of workers' compensation cases, ensuring timely and effective handling.
• Develop and execute legal strategies to achieve the best outcomes for clients.
• Draft and file legal documents, including pleadings, briefs, and motions.
• Represent clients in hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings.
• Provide legal counsel to clients, addressing case-specific questions and concerns.
• Collaborate with colleagues, clients, and opposing counsel to resolve cases efficiently.
• Stay current with changes in workers' compensation laws and regulations.
• Maintain compliance with professional and ethical standards.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience handling workers' compensation cases.
• Strong knowledge of California workers' compensation laws and procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in negotiating settlements and advocating in legal proceedings.
• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Native or fluent Spanish speakers are encouraged to apply.

Education

• Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
