Job Overview:
A highly respected law firm is seeking an experienced associate to join its Real Estate Equity practice in New York. This role focuses on complex commercial real estate transactions with an emphasis on equity-side matters. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in joint ventures, acquisitions, dispositions, and real estate financings, and will bring a sophisticated understanding of transactional structuring and deal execution in the real estate space.

Location:

• New York, NY

Duties:

• Advise on complex commercial real estate equity transactions

• Structure and negotiate joint ventures, equity investments, and development arrangements

• Represent clients in the acquisition and disposition of commercial properties and portfolios

• Draft and review operating agreements, purchase and sale agreements, and related financing documentation

• Coordinate with lenders, investors, developers, and internal legal teams on all aspects of deal execution

• Conduct and manage legal due diligence and risk assessments

Requirements:

• 4 to 6 years of experience practicing real estate law at a top-tier law firm

• Substantive experience in commercial real estate equity transactions

• Prior involvement with joint ventures, acquisitions, dispositions, and financings

• Demonstrated ability to lead transaction components and manage client relationships

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

• Strong academic record required

Certifications:

• Admission to the bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (New York preferred)

Skills:

• Excellent drafting and negotiation skills

• Strong understanding of real estate deal structures and equity arrangements

• Ability to handle complex, high-value transactions independently and in team settings

• Meticulous attention to detail and sound business judgment

• Strong communication and project management abilities
