A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney with 1-3 years of litigation experience to join their Healthcare and Litigation Strategy team in New York. This role offers substantial hands-on experience and the opportunity to build a career in litigation defense.

Duties

• Conduct depositions, including those of plaintiffs and non-party witnesses.
• Learn to defend healthcare providers during depositions.
• Draft motions, pleadings, and other litigation documents.
• Manage written discovery, including interrogatories and document demands.
• Attend court conferences, mediations, and oral arguments.
• Communicate effectively with judges, clients, and opposing counsel.
• Assist with case strategy, legal research, and trial preparation.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to practice in New York.
• 1-3 years of civil litigation experience, preferably in medical malpractice or insurance defense.
• Experience conducting depositions is preferred.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple cases effectively.
• Interest in developing litigation and deposition skills in medical malpractice defense.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.)

Certifications

• Admission to practice in the State of New York
