Senior Tax Manager – SALT (Sales & Use Tax)
Duties: Assist multi-state companies with state and local tax issues including compliance, advisory services, planning, technology, and controversies. Assist multi-state companies with state and local tax controversies which includes preparing clients for discussions with auditors, representing the client at hearings, appeal meetings, and preparing protests. Review information presented on state income tax returns before, during, and after preparation. Research and draft technical memoranda regarding income and franchise tax controversies. Research and draft summaries of state tax legislation to communicate in-house and to clients. Supervise team and leverage their skills and abilities to effectively and efficiently complete engagements. Develop new clients through new business development efforts. Identify opportunities for other services. Assist multi-state companies with analyzing state tax considerations/impacts related to business restructuring projects and intercompany transactions. Supervise, mentor, and develop staff members.
