Associate Attorney - Family Law

Profile

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney with a focus on family law to join its team in Santa Barbara, CA. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for advocacy, excellent communication skills, and a strong work ethic. The role is ideal for someone with experience in family law, although litigation and courtroom experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Duties:

• Represent clients in family law matters, including divorce, child custody, support, and other related legal issues.
• Conduct thorough legal research, draft motions, pleadings, and other legal documents.
• Communicate effectively with clients, offering compassionate and strategic advice.
• Advocate for clients in court hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
• Manage case files and collaborate with legal teams to develop case strategies.

Requirements:

• Minimum of two years of experience in family law.
• Excellent writing, communication, and advocacy skills.
• Strong work ethic and a passion for providing zealous representation.
• Experience in litigation and court appearances is preferred but not required.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership with the California State Bar.

Skills:

• Strong research and writing skills for drafting legal documents.
• Effective verbal communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction.
• Organizational skills to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
