A law firm seeks a Litigation Attorney with a minimum of five years of experience to join their Houston, TX office. The position focuses on commercial litigation, encompassing all stages from case inception through mediation or trial. The ideal candidate will possess courtroom experience, strong interpersonal skills, maturity, and a readiness to manage a demanding workload in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

• Analyze, research, and draft briefs on complex legal issues.
• Draft pleadings and prepare discovery, briefing, and research.
• Make court appearances for hearings and trials.
• Participate in administrative hearings before various state and federal agencies.
• Attend depositions and conduct mediations.

Requirements

• Lead in evidentiary hearings.
• Experience leading Temporary Injunction and Temporary Restraining Order hearings.
• Good standing with the Texas State Bar.
• At least 5 years of experience at a regional, national, or outstanding local firm.
• Proven track record in complex commercial litigation.
• At least 3 years of trial experience.
• Lead in depositions of both fact and expert witnesses.
• Lead in mediations.
• Practice in both State and Federal courts.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Texas.
