A prestigious law firm, with a focus on energy and infrastructure projects, is seeking a Project Finance Associate Attorney to join its team in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will bring 3-5 years of transactional experience in renewable energy project finance, with a particular emphasis on representing lenders and tax equity investors. The position offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth, working on complex transactions within the renewable energy sector.

Duties:

  • Represent lenders, tax equity investors, and other stakeholders in renewable energy project finance transactions.
  • Provide legal counsel and support in the structuring, negotiation, and documentation of project finance deals.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support the execution of complex financial transactions.
  • Draft and review contracts, loan documents, security agreements, and other transaction-related documents.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to provide comprehensive advice to clients.
  • Stay current on regulatory changes and developments in the renewable energy sector and incorporate them into project work.
  • Assist in the development of client relationships and business development efforts.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in transactional law, specifically related to project finance, with a focus on renewable energy transactions.
  • Strong expertise in structuring, negotiating, and documenting financing arrangements.
  • Experience with tax equity, financing, and development agreements within the energy industry.
  • Exceptional writing, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously and work under tight deadlines.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Member in good standing of the District of Columbia Bar (or willingness to obtain membership).

Skills:

  • Strong legal drafting and negotiating skills.
  • Proficient in legal research and analysis, especially as it pertains to project finance and renewable energy.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong ability to manage complex transactions and deadlines.
