A law firm seeks a Patent Agent for its Washington, DC location:

Job Overview: The Patent Agent will collaborate with clients on cutting-edge technologies, procuring patent protection, and managing IP portfolios. They will draft, file, and prosecute patent applications, conduct due diligence, and support patent litigation.

Duties:

• Draft, file, and prosecute patent applications
• Provide support for due diligence, landscape analysis, freedom-to-operate analysis, and validity assessment
• Support patent litigation
• Draft responses to patent application rejections
• Establish and maintain internal patent-related practices and procedures
• Coordinate and streamline patent-related information, filings, and deadlines
• Communicate professionally with internal and external clients
• Work as part of a global professional team
• Demonstrate attention to detail and advanced writing skills
• Manage multiple tasks and projects, meeting deadlines
• Think creatively and exercise good judgment

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences, Engineering, or related field
• 2 years of experience in patent prosecution preferred
• Registered with the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)
