Duties

  • Represent clients in immigration court for cases involving asylum, cancellation of removal, and other removal defense matters

  • Prepare and file legal documents for immigration petitions and applications

  • Conduct client consultations and strategy sessions

  • Advocate for clients before USCIS for adjustment of status, waivers, family petitions, and other benefits

  • Remain informed on updates in immigration laws, regulations, and procedures

  • Collaborate with legal support staff to ensure effective and timely case handling

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience practicing immigration law in court settings

  • Proven ability to represent clients in removal defense proceedings

  • Strong legal writing, research, and advocacy skills

  • Capacity to work both independently and within a collaborative team environment

  • Professional demeanor with a client-focused approach

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in the United States

  • Good standing with state bar (any U.S. jurisdiction)

Skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication

  • Strong understanding of immigration law, including family-based petitions and asylum

  • Time management and organizational ability

  • Interpersonal skills for working with diverse clients and legal staff

  • Bilingual (preferred, but not required)
