A respected estate planning law firm is seeking an experienced Estate & Trust Administration Attorney to lead and manage its Estate Settlement practice across two offices in Hendersonville and Asheville, North Carolina. Duties
Oversee and lead the Estate and Trust Administration practice for both Hendersonville and Asheville offices
Supervise a team of four experienced support staff
Manage the implementation and ongoing operation of the firm’s Estate Settlement Program
Utilize and oversee use of legal systems, including LegalBoards and Clio
Conduct client meetings throughout the Estate Settlement Program process
Review and interpret estate planning documents, such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and beneficiary designations
Ensure accurate and timely administration of trust and estate matters
Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in all matters
Meet deadlines consistently and reliably in a client-facing, fast-paced environment
Requirements
Minimum of 4 years of experience in estate and trust administration
Prior experience managing legal support staff or legal processes
Ability to handle a high level of responsibility with minimal supervision
Comfortable adapting to and improving systems or processes
Reliable, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven professional demeanor
Education
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Certifications
Licensed and in good standing with the North Carolina State Bar (or eligible for admission)
Skills
Strong leadership and team management abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with high standards of grammar and professionalism
Client-focused demeanor with excellent interpersonal skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Familiarity with legal tech platforms such as Clio, LegalBoards, Adobe Acrobat, and NetDocuments
Organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
Problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
