Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Litigation Attorney in Columbia, SC. The successful candidate will join a team representing individual and business clients in state and federal courts across South Carolina, focusing on litigation, business, and real estate matters.

Duties

• Attend court proceedings including trials, motion hearings, depositions, arbitrations, and mediations.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and memoranda of law.
• Meet and confer with clients, witnesses, and opposing counsel.
• Review residential real estate title searches and loan documents.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active license to practice law in South Carolina.
• 1-3 years' experience in civil and/or real estate litigation.
• Completion of S.C. Rule 403 requirements.
• Effective time management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex legal and business documents.
• Ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with others.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

• Active license to practice law in South Carolina.
