Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Bankruptcy Attorney in Charlotte, NC, with a focus on representing secured creditors in consumer Chapter 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcy cases. The ideal candidate will have over two years of experience and a solid understanding of the Bankruptcy Code and Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure. However, candidates with less experience who are team-oriented and eager to learn are also encouraged to apply. A license to practice law in North Carolina or Tennessee is required.

Duties

• Manage routine bankruptcy matters.
• Draft and review pleadings and claims.
• Attend scheduled hearings.
• Respond to firm-wide bankruptcy inquiries.
• Review client filings.
• Monitor electronic filings (ECFs).
• Resolve routine bankruptcy issues.
• Communicate regularly with clients, opposing counsel, and the Court.

Requirements

• Knowledge of bankruptcy rules and creditor rights laws.
• Computer literacy.
• Professionalism and attention to detail.
• Strong keyboard and time management skills.
• Excellent communication skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in North Carolina or Tennessee.
• Admitted to Bankruptcy Courts in North Carolina or Tennessee.
