A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney in Richmond, VA. This full-time position offers a unique opportunity for substantive courtroom experience alongside a robust real estate and transactional practice. The role involves handling civil litigation matters and working on residential and commercial real estate transactions from contract through closing.

Duties

• Litigate civil matters in Virginia General District Court and Circuit Court.
• Act as first-chair counsel, including opening statements and witness examination.
• Conduct all phases of discovery and draft pleadings and motions.
• Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel and clients.
• Draft and review real estate transaction documents.
• Coordinate with clients, lenders, and real estate professionals.
• Manage transactions from contract through closing.

Requirements

• Active member of the Virginia State Bar.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Interest in civil litigation and real estate law.
• Courtroom experience is a plus.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Virginia State Bar license.
