Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Family Law Attorney to join their team in Seattle, Washington. This fully remote position offers an opportunity to work in a supportive and collaborative environment, providing strategic legal counsel to clients navigating complex family law matters.

Duties

  • Provide strategic legal counsel tailored to each client's unique situation.
  • Guide clients through their options, empowering informed decisions.
  • Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and court proceedings.
  • Deliver high-quality, cost-effective legal services.
  • Ensure clients feel informed, supported, and confident throughout their case.
  • Contribute to team collaboration, knowledge sharing, and process improvements.

Requirements

  • Active membership in good standing with the Washington State Bar Association.
  • 5+ years of legal experience, with a preference for family law and Washington-based experience.
  • Experience with motions, mediation, collaborative law, and/or trial work preferred.
  • Familiarity with local court rules in King, Snohomish, and Pierce counties, or the ability to quickly learn.
  • Strong technical proficiency or ability to learn tools such as Dropbox, Adobe, Microsoft 365, Slack, Apple systems, and Clio.
  • Exceptional legal writing skills (writing sample required).
  • A growth mindset, openness to coaching, and comfort with candid feedback.
  • High emotional intelligence, professionalism, and a collaborative spirit.
  • A passion for client advocacy and education.
  • Commitment to agreed-upon billable hour expectations.
  • Reliable internet and phone access in a remote environment.
  • Ability to attend in-person court appearances, mediations, and key meetings as needed.
  • A genuine commitment to diversity, inclusion, and community engagement.
  • Interest in networking, business development, and thought leadership.
  • Ambition, curiosity, and a desire to make a meaningful impact.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the Washington State Bar Association.

  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and client management skills.
