Job Overview:
A respected law firm based in Farmington Hills, MI, is seeking a highly motivated Litigation Associate to join its plaintiff-side personal injury team. This role focuses on motor vehicle accident litigation and requires a professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses strong emotional intelligence, and demonstrates outstanding legal acumen. The associate will be involved in all phases of litigation, working alongside experienced litigators to deliver results for injured clients.

Duties:

• Communicate directly with clients to provide updates and legal guidance

• Draft, revise, and analyze litigation documents, including motions, pleadings, and settlement agreements

• Conduct comprehensive legal research and analyze statutes, case law, and regulations

• Manage discovery processes, including drafting and responding to interrogatories and document requests

• Conduct and defend depositions

• Assist in trial preparation and attend mediations, arbitrations, and court proceedings

• Collaborate with senior attorneys on litigation strategy and case progression from intake through resolution

Requirements:

• 1 to 7 years of relevant litigation experience (personal injury or auto negligence litigation preferred)

• Demonstrated courtroom, oral advocacy, and deposition skills

• Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously with strong attention to detail

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in the state of Michigan

• Must have passed the Bar Examination and be in good standing

Skills:

• Exceptional legal writing and research capabilities

• Proficiency in case management and litigation tools

• Ability to analyze complex legal issues and develop effective strategies
