A respected law firm in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a motivated Entry-Level Immigration Associate Attorney to join its growing immigration practice. This is an exceptional opportunity for a newly licensed attorney or early-career immigration lawyer to manage a diverse caseload, work alongside a supportive legal team, and gain hands-on experience in removal defense, family-based immigration, and USCIS matters. Duties

  • Explain immigration law concepts and present strategic legal solutions to clients

  • Represent detained and non-detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals

  • Manage a caseload of immigration matters independently

  • Conduct intake interviews with detained individuals at detention centers

  • Prepare and file various immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions

  • Review and adjust immigration application packets prepared by staff

  • Work collaboratively with law enforcement, prosecutors, and community-based organizations on immigration law developments

  • Meet with potential clients for immigration consultations and determine case strategies

  • Develop case strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for testimony in court or before USCIS

  • Conduct legal analysis to identify potential case benefits

  • Prepare and submit legal briefs and other filings for a variety of immigration cases

Requirements

  • 0 to 3 years of immigration law experience

  • Ability to manage and move a caseload forward independently

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and client-service skills

  • Team-oriented with a collaborative approach

  • Experience handling Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR, detained matters, citizenship applications, and USCIS petitions

  • Familiarity with immigration case management software preferred

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction

Skills

  • Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills

  • Strategic thinking and case planning ability

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • High attention to detail

  • Ability to clearly explain complex legal concepts to clients
