A law firm seeks a Litigation Attorney to join its office in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate will be an experienced and versatile attorney with a client-focused approach, capable of thriving in complex legal environments.

Duties

• Handle state and federal civil and general litigation cases.
• Engage in insurance coverage and defense, premises liability, and general negligence matters.
• Conduct depositions and manage expert witness discovery.
• Oversee Electronically Stored Information (ESI) discovery.
• Draft and argue motions in court.
• Draft and respond to discovery requests.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of litigation experience.
• Trial experience preferred.
• Experience in insurance coverage is preferred.
• Proficiency in Illinois Court Rules and Rules of Evidence.
• Knowledge of Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and Rules of Evidence.
• Ability to conduct remote depositions.
• Comfortable with new computer software.
• Portable book of business with growth potential required.

Education

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

• Member in good standing and active in the Illinois Bar.

Skills

• Excellent research and legal brief writing skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
