Duties:
Draft and prosecute patent applications related to electronics, wireless communication, and software innovations
Collaborate with inventors and technical teams to assess invention disclosures and determine patentability
Manage a docket of U.S. and international patent matters
Engage in patent strategy, including freedom-to-operate, due diligence, and portfolio management
Participate in standards-related patent work and post-grant proceedings as needed
Offer guidance on IP best practices and innovation strategy in client-facing interactions
Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years of recent, hands-on experience in U.S. patent preparation and prosecution
Familiarity with technologies such as wireless systems, communication networks, semiconductors, cloud computing, data storage, memory systems, wearable devices, and software systems
Admission to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)
Strong technical writing and analytical skills
Ability to work both independently and within a collaborative legal team
Education:
A technical degree (B.S., M.S., or Ph.D.) in one or more of the following fields:
Electrical Engineering
Computer Engineering
Computer Science
Mechanical Engineering
Physics
Or closely related disciplines
Certifications:
Admission to at least one U.S. state bar
Registration with the USPTO as a patent practitioner
Skills:
