Duties

• Gather and review medical evidence and records.
• Conduct depositions of claimants, physicians, and experts.
• Perform legal research and draft legal documents.
• Litigate cases before a workers' compensation judge or referee.
• Represent employer or insurer at hearings and mediations.
• Communicate with claims representatives and monitor reports.
• Assist in accident investigations and manage costs.
• Negotiate settlements and compile management reports.

Requirements

• J.D. and admission to the Kansas and Missouri bar.
• 3+ years of experience in Workers' Compensation defense.
• Knowledge of legal principles and practices.
• Understanding of local, state, and federal laws.
• Proficiency in legal research and terminology.
• Experience with Microsoft Word; Perfect Law preferred.
• Maintain firm and client confidentiality.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree

Certifications

• Admission to the Kansas and Missouri bar
