Job Overview: A law firm in Sacramento, CA, is seeking a qualified and experienced Traditional Labor Law Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling various aspects of labor relations, providing legal advice to employers, and representing management in legal proceedings. The candidate should possess a Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school, have 4-6 years of relevant experience, and hold a California Bar Admission.

Job Details:

• Handling unfair labor practice charges at the National Labor Relations Board (“NLRB”)
• Researching and writing legal documents
• Representing management in NLRB elections
• Providing legal advice on union organizing, corporate campaigns, card checks, and neutrality agreements
• Negotiating and advising on collective bargaining agreements
• Handling grievance, arbitration, and unfair labor practice proceedings
• Obtaining mass picketing injunctions
• Advising employers on federal and California wage and hour issues, leave management, disability accommodating issues, and other workplace matters
• Reviewing handbooks, policies, and forms for compliance with federal and state law
• Reviewing compensation, commission, and bonus plans
• Conducting management training on labor relations, federal and California workplace issues, harassment, discrimination, and retaliation
• Performing other duties and responsibilities as reasonably assigned

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
• 4-6 years of experience in litigation or advice work as an attorney
• Traditional labor law experience preferred
• Experience in federal and/or California advice and counsel work preferred
• California Bar Admission

Certifications:

• California Bar Admission

Skills:

• Understanding of current agency (state and federal) enforcement techniques preferred
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong organizational and project management skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
