A reputable law firm is seeking a Mid-Level Associate Attorney with 4+ years of experience in general municipal law. This role involves providing legal counsel to public agencies on municipal governance, public contracts, and regulatory compliance. Location:

Duties:

  • Advise public agencies and municipalities on local government law, public contracts, and regulatory compliance.

  • Provide legal guidance on open meeting laws, public records laws, and ethics regulations.

  • Draft and negotiate contracts, ordinances, and resolutions for public agencies.

  • Represent clients in administrative hearings, city council meetings, and other municipal proceedings.

  • Advise on municipal finance matters including tax assessments, revenue generation, and bond issuance.

  • Assist in developing and reviewing municipal policies, procedures, and guidelines.

  • Represent clients in municipal governance, zoning, and other regulatory litigation matters.

  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and municipal clients to devise legal solutions.

  • Mentor junior associates and contribute to a collaborative work environment.

Requirements:

  • 4-7 years of experience in general municipal law.

  • Experience in public contracts, local governance, public finance, and regulatory compliance.

  • Strong knowledge of state and federal municipal laws, including the Brown Act and Public Records Act.

  • Experience advising public agencies, drafting ordinances, and representing clients in municipal hearings.

  • Excellent legal research, writing, and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with clients, colleagues, and government officials.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of California.
