Instructor of Criminal Justice
The candidate will prepare syllabi and develop curricula to address course and student learning outcomes and General Education competencies as appropriate. Serve as academic advisor to students. Post and maintain a minimum of four (4) office hours per week. Serve on College committees as elected or appointed. Attend program, division, department, all-college, academic area and committee meetings. Recommend suitable instructional material, textbooks, and library acquisitions. Participate in assessment of course and program learning outcomes. Use technology effectively to communicate with students and colleagues and to enhance classroom learning as appropriate. Develop appropriate courses related to subject matter. Engage in professional development activities to maintain excellence in the discipline and in the classroom. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Dean consistent with the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Master's Degree in Criminal Justice or related field; or Juris Doctor degree, along with a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice or related field is required. Should have 3-5 years of senior leadership experience in the field of Criminal Justice. Ph.D. in Criminal Justice or related field is preferred. Experience in community college teaching, advisement, and curriculum development is preferred.
