Job Overview:
A growing Northern Virginia law firm is seeking full-time Criminal Defense Associate Attorneys at all experience levels. This opportunity is ideal for attorneys passionate about litigation and courtroom advocacy. The firm offers a dynamic environment with strong mentorship, comprehensive training, and a unique compensation structure that includes both salary and commission for billable work. Attorneys will represent clients in a variety of criminal and traffic matters across Virginia.

Location:

• Fairfax, VA

Duties:

• Represent clients in a wide range of criminal and traffic cases, including:

  • Assault and battery

  • DUI and reckless driving

  • Felonies and misdemeanors

  • Drug possession, distribution, and related offenses

• Conduct legal research, draft motions, and prepare legal memoranda

• Attend arraignments, preliminary hearings, motion hearings, and trials

• Communicate effectively with clients to provide case updates and legal advice

• Work collaboratively with fellow attorneys and staff to develop legal strategies

• Manage a high-volume caseload efficiently and meet filing deadlines

Requirements:

• Active membership in the Virginia State Bar (or having recently sat for the Bar Exam)

• Demonstrated interest in litigation and criminal law

• Willingness to work in a fast-paced, high-volume legal practice

• Ownership of reliable transportation for court appearances

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the Virginia State Bar (or pending results if recently completed Bar Exam)

Skills:

• Strong verbal and written advocacy skills

• Proficiency in legal research and court filings

• Highly organized with the ability to manage deadlines and priorities

• Bilingual (Spanish/English) proficiency is a plus

• Comfortable with frequent court appearances and client interaction
