Job Overview:
A nationally recognized AmLaw 100 law firm is seeking a skilled Corporate Restructuring Associate Attorney to join its high-performing restructuring and insolvency practice. The ideal candidate will have 1–5 years of experience representing debtors, creditors, lenders, and purchasers in both in-court and out-of-court restructurings. This position involves substantive client contact, courtroom experience, and complex cross-border matters. The role is ideal for professionals looking to advance their legal careers in a collaborative, high-stakes environment.

Duties:
Represent debtors, official creditors' committees, lenders, and asset purchasers in financial restructuring matters
Present and argue contested matters in bankruptcy court
Draft pleadings, including first-day motions and court filings
Draft and negotiate plans of reorganization and related confirmation documents
Participate in corporate transactions involving distressed assets, including sales and acquisitions
Manage orderly liquidation processes for insolvent businesses
Conduct claims reconciliation and prepare objections
Negotiate with creditors, banks, and other stakeholders, including official committees of unsecured creditors
Maintain regular and meaningful client communication
Requirements:
1 to 5 years of experience in restructuring, bankruptcy, and insolvency matters
Hands-on experience with Chapter 11 proceedings and related litigation
Demonstrated ability to handle high-level legal research, drafting, and courtroom procedures
Must be admitted to practice law in the state corresponding to the office location applied for
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school
Certifications:
Active bar admission in NY, IL, FL, TX, or GA, depending on location of interest
Skills:
Strong litigation and courtroom advocacy skills
Deep understanding of bankruptcy law and restructuring frameworks
Proficiency in drafting complex legal documents and reorganization plans
Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize across multiple projects
Excellent negotiation and client-interfacing skills
Collaborative approach to working across practice areas and jurisdictions
