Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Information Governance Attorney in Los Angeles, CA. This role involves advising on information governance issues to ensure compliance with legal, ethical, security, and privacy requirements. The attorney will manage document preservation, collection, and review, and develop procedures for electronic discovery and disclosure.

Duties

• Oversee the operation and maintenance of internal legal holds and document preservation.
• Collaborate with attorneys to ensure compliance with confidentiality and security obligations.
• Provide pre-litigation data management support and coordinate information collection and release.
• Advise on security, privacy, and AI issues, including evaluating new applications and services.
• Develop internal policies and best practices for information governance.
• Protect and maintain sensitive, confidential, and proprietary information.

Requirements

• Exhibit excellent leadership skills, including organizing, planning, and decision-making.
• Possess knowledge of electronically stored information (ESI) management and review tools.
• Demonstrate knowledge of security laws, including breach-notification requirements.

Education

• University degree in law, with additional coursework in a technology-related field preferred.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) or Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school preferred.

Certifications

• Qualification or licensure to practice law in the jurisdiction of residence or where the firm has an office.

Skills

• Experience with electronic discovery, disclosure, due diligence, or records management preferred.
• Admission to at least one United States state bar.
