Job Overview:
A law firm seeks a Senior Family Law Attorney with over 10 years of experience in the legal field. The ideal candidate will bring a well-established practice and client base, excelling in both independent work and collaboration within the firm. The Senior Family Law Attorney will be expected to generate a significant portion of their own work while benefiting from the firm’s lead generation and marketing efforts. Duties:

  • Provide expert mediation and trial representation in family law matters.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis on complex family law issues.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including briefs, memoranda, and client correspondence.
  • Actively market personal and firm services to attract new clients.
  • Manage discovery processes, including handling electronic and hard-copy data for litigation.
  • Conduct due diligence on legal matters to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and advocacy, with a focus on empathetic listening.
  • Manage a productive schedule that includes client consultations, with the possibility of some evening or weekend work.
  • Close client consultations and ensure a high conversion rate for new business.
  • Oversee timely approval of invoices to maintain financial health of the practice.
  • Ensure maximum utilization and productivity of support staff.
  • Update client management systems accurately with relevant information.
  • Share workloads when necessary to meet client needs and service objectives.
  • Engage in personal and professional branding, including social media, blogs, and networking.
  • Seek and encourage positive client feedback and reviews.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support the firm’s goals.

Requirements:

  • Strong writing and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Exceptional legal research and analytical abilities.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Admission to the state bar (or eligibility for reciprocal admission).
  • A minimum of 5 years of legal experience, ideally in family law or related areas.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Must be admitted to the bar in the state where you will practice, or be eligible for reciprocal admission.

Skills:

  • Expertise in family law and litigation.
  • Strong mediation and trial experience.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and documentation skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage an independent caseload.
  • Skilled in client management and business development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team of attorneys and support staff.
  • Proficient in using client management software and ensuring data integrity.
