A law firm seeks an Innovation Attorney in Chicago, Illinois. This role involves advising lawyers, matter teams, clients, and practice groups in litigation, aligning innovative legal technologies with workflows to optimize value and efficiency.

Duties

• Partner with litigation practice groups to develop strategies for optimizing efficiencies using GenAI and other technologies.
• Replicate practice group successes by applying learned lessons across teams.
• Configure legal technologies and platforms to meet practice group needs.
• Identify opportunities for enhancing technology solutions in collaboration with the technology department.
• Serve as a liaison for clients interested in AI projects, ensuring alignment with client guidelines.
• Implement outreach initiatives to increase lawyer engagement with technologies.
• Collaborate on projects with various firm teams, including business development and risk management.
• Stay informed on legal industry trends and emerging technologies.
• Communicate with third-party vendors to foster strategic relationships.
• Protect and maintain sensitive and confidential information.
• Align working hours to support global teams and business partners.

Requirements

• JD or equivalent, admission to the relevant state bar.
• Minimum two years of experience as a practicing lawyer or in a legal operations role; litigation experience required.
• Proficiency with technology, legal technology, and artificial intelligence.
• Experience in strategic legal technology projects, particularly in large law firms or corporate legal departments.
• Knowledge of the litigation legal matter lifecycle preferred.
• Familiarity with techniques for increasing adoption of legal tech tools.
• Experience in business analysis, solution design, or client-facing roles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to stakeholders.
• Strong customer service and problem-solving mindset.
• Effective team player in diverse environments.
• Self-starter with high initiative; detail-oriented and organized.

Education

• JD or equivalent.
