Duties

• Represent clients in family law matters including divorce, custody, and child support.
• Manage a caseload from start to finish.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and settlement agreements.
• Conduct hearings, mediations, and trials.
• Negotiate settlements and advocate effectively in court.
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients.
• Collaborate with support staff to ensure efficient case management.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in family law and/or criminal law preferred.
• Experience handling contested hearings and trials.
• Strong research and analytical skills applicable to legal case preparation.
• Effective negotiation skills to resolve disputes and advocate for clients.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Active bar licensure in Virginia.
