Legal Assistant
The candidate will be answering phone calls; preparing a variety of legal documents under attorney direction and attorney supervision; preparing correspondence; creating and managing files; compiling documents for discovery and hearings; calendaring and calendar management for attorneys and assisting the managing attorneys and other team members with a variety of tasks as assigned. Will perform a wide variety of administrative tasks. Professionally respond to phone calls and emails. Maintain calendars and schedule meetings in Outlook and Clio. Compose routine correspondence and maintain regular communication with clients. Track and organize numerous documents, including contracts, memoranda, and pleadings. Ensure that all documents have been proofread, edited, and revised as necessary for accuracy, format, grammar, and punctuation. Extensive proofreading, redlining, and work with successive iterations. Develop strong working relationships with supervising attorneys. Strong computer skills (proficient knowledge of Adobe and Microsoft Office Suite — Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) is required. Previous experience in family law, probate, state court, and/or federal court is necessary. Excellent written and oral communication skills, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation required. Strong organizational skills needed.
