Job Title: Litigation Attorney

Job Overview:
A prominent law firm located in Towson, MD, is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive litigation associate with 2-5 years of experience to join its civil defense team. This role offers exposure to complex litigation across diverse practice areas, including professional liability, medical malpractice, employment law, and general casualty. The position is ideal for a motivated legal professional looking to handle meaningful casework from the outset in a collegial yet fast-paced environment. Duties:

• Manage all phases of litigation, from initial pleadings through expert discovery

• Represent clients in hearings, depositions, mediations, and court appearances

• Draft pleadings, legal motions, discovery responses, memoranda, and settlement agreements

• Conduct fact investigations, complex legal research, and prepare case summaries and status updates

• Communicate directly with clients to provide legal counsel, updates, and strategic guidance

• Analyze and respond to discovery, including reviewing and summarizing depositions

• Negotiate and collaborate with opposing parties to resolve disputes efficiently

Requirements:

• 2-5 years of experience in civil litigation

• Active license to practice law in Maryland (DC admission is advantageous)

• Familiarity with matters involving medical malpractice, professional liability, and/or employment litigation preferred

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Proven ability to manage multiple matters in a high-volume environment

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active membership in good standing with the Maryland State Bar

• Additional Bar admission in Washington, D.C. is considered a plus

Skills:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

• Familiarity with legal research platforms, particularly Lexis

• Strong organizational and analytical capabilities

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively on a team
