Duties:

• Provide legal counsel to individuals and businesses regarding tax issues, including federal, state, and local matters.
• Advise on corporate formation, mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, and other transactional needs.
• Guide clients on tax implications, entity selection, and tax audits.
• Handle administrative appeals and manage interactions with state and local tax authorities.
• Conduct thorough legal research and draft high-quality written materials.
• Ensure strict adherence to deadlines and attention to detail in all matters.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and other team members to deliver high-value services to clients.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) and Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation required.
• Admission to the Louisiana or Texas Bar is preferred, or willingness to take the respective state bar if licensed elsewhere.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex legal issues clearly.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Demonstrated initiative, as well as a collaborative team-oriented attitude.
• Proven excellence in research and writing.
• Impeccable attention to detail, especially in legal filings.
• Former CPA, governmental experience, or expertise in international tax is a plus.

Education:

• J.D. and LL.M. in Taxation required.

Certifications:

• Admission to the Louisiana or Texas Bar (or willingness to take it).
• CPA certification or government experience is a plus.
