Job Overview

A law firm seeks a mid-level associate attorney in Walnut Creek, CA. The ideal candidate will have a passion for consumer rights and a minimum of three years of litigation experience. This role offers the opportunity to engage in various phases of litigation, including discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation, while working closely with experienced attorneys.

Duties

• Collaborate with a team of experienced lawyers.
• Draft and review written discovery and document productions.
• Prepare and argue motions related to discovery disputes and other litigation matters.
• Prepare clients for depositions and defend consumer client depositions.
• Conduct depositions of witnesses and corporate representatives.
• Prepare expert witnesses and attend expert depositions.
• Attend vehicle inspections with expert witnesses.

Requirements

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
• California Bar license in good standing.
• Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience as a California licensed attorney.
• Willingness to learn and apply technology solutions in a paperless environment.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred, but not required.
• Proficient in MS Office, Westlaw, and Outlook.
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Willingness to travel within California for court appearances and depositions.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

Education

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

• California Bar license in good standing.

Skills

• Proficient in MS Office, Westlaw, and Outlook.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
