Paralegal

Duties: Assist attorneys in the Office of General Counsel with day-to-day tasks and ongoing projects in a variety of legal areas, including labor and employment, contracts, student affairs, and regulatory compliance. Contract maintenance and administration, under the direction of an attorney: Conduct review of college contracts and participate in negotiation. Prepare contracts for the college, including collective bargaining contracts. Review and assist in advising college departments of contractual business terms. Process contracts for signature. Implement and maintain contract database. Prepare, draft and review basic real estate documents. Coordinate with outside counsel for immigration matters and prepare routine filings as necessary. Compile information, conduct basic research and respond to subpoenas or other document requests. Assist with preparation of legal motions and memoranda. Prepare and maintain correspondence and chronologies. Research, filing, mailings, scheduling, and telephone communications. Assist in maintaining the Office of General Counsel website ; perform ongoing maintenance of policies and procedures posted on the website. Assist in the preparation of training materials and presentations. Attend selected meetings in absence of the attorneys as needed. Where appropriate, liaise with outside counsel or other constituents for meetings, document preparation or where other coordination is necessary. Notarize documents.
