Legal Department Assistant
The candidate will take new client calls, run conflicts, set up initial consultations with attorneys. Open new matters, set up case management forms for legal assistants when needed. Close files – run AR reports, submit requests to administration, scan closed files. Merge files for legal assistants. Photocopy various legal documents. Put together binders for attorneys and paralegals. Open, scan, and distribute mail among department. Prepare overnight, certified, or bulk mailing. Set up conference room for client meetings and clean up afterwards. Provide assistance during in-office depositions or hearings. Make local hand deliveries and court runs when needed. Assist paralegals with special projects, spreadsheets, reports, scheduling, etc.. Cover for legal assistants when they are out-of-office. Should have 2-5 years of experience in general project management from any area of office work. Law firm experience is a plus.
