Duties

  • Handle cases from pre-litigation negotiations through to trial, including drafting documents, mediation, depositions, and attending hearings.
  • Research and analyze case law and precedents relevant to first-party insurance claims.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with clients to ensure clear communication and trust.
  • Supervise and manage the support staff assigned to your docket to ensure case progression.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop effective legal strategies for case management.

Requirements

  • Active license to practice law in Texas and good standing with the Texas State Bar.
  • Experience negotiating first-party insurance claims, particularly storm damage-related cases.
  • Familiarity with Local Rules and a demonstrated ability to conduct legal research on them.
  • Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and persuasive legal documents.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering thorough, high-quality work.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a team of support staff effectively.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active and in good standing with the Texas State Bar.
